We have a few birds roaming the yard these days. They work from dawn to dusk foraging for weeds and insects and turning our leaves into mulch. We give them a whole backyard to enjoy, and in return, they give us fresh eggs!

Sand Mountain
Nick climbing Sand Mountain with a storm looming in the background.
And for the best part, the descent!
Harvest Time
This is our first year with a fruit tree in our yard...

The assembly line...Nolan to Nick, and then to Cora and into the bowl.

Delicious!

Our neighbors have a very fruitful Kumquat tree. They let us gather as many as we could before the freeze hits. Crazy, but this is only about 1/4 of the fruit on the tree. The kicker is, you'll be sorry if you eat more than three or four of these, so I better get working on jelly fast!
