Late pics from a couple weeks ago when we got to head out on Mark's boat, up the Intercoastal waterway and out into the Gulf. It was a perfect day and such a blast to get the sails up, turn off the engine and ride the wind. Thanks again Mark :-)

Hurricane Isaac
Here's a little bit of what we saw with Isaac. We had to get to the Gulf to see the impact of Isaac in our area. It may be hard to see how large the waves are, but you can see how rough they look.
These are pics of the Intracoastal waterway which never has whitecaps!

The Calm Before the Storm
While Isaac was deciding which path to take, we were enjoying some of the nicest weather we've had since we have been back. So, we spent the weekend playing in the surf, building sand creations, and relaxing.

Hangin' with the Hastings
Here's a little bit of what we've been up to....mostly paddling around on kayaks, exploring new islands, and a bit of rainy day fun.
We've started outgrowing our single kayaks, so we recently picked up a couple tandems. Plenty of room to get us (and the dog) all out on the water. And we still have both of our singles & a canoe waiting for any of our guests :-)
Sunset, on the water, with nobody else around....worth the paddle every time!
Cora swims like a little fish with her life jacket on.
Swimming just off shore of the island...we used the boat launch at Hub Stacy's, paddled across the intracoastal and made our way to one of the larger islands. The islands are a nice place to swim and relax with shallow water and little boat traffic.
